Weatherstripping

Weatherstripping, in essence, is simply a sealing product that ensures openings of all kinds, including doors, windows, hatches and trunks, are protected from many of the aggressive forces of nature. This term also often refers to the materials used in order to carry out such sealing processes. The ultimate goal of weatherstripping is to prevent rain, hail, sleet, snow and any other form of moisture due to water from entering a building or piece of equipment. Either returning or rerouting the water typically accomplishes the prevention process. Another goal of installing or incorporating weatherstripping onto doors and windows is to keep inside air in, resulting in an energy savings in terms of heating and air conditioning costs.
